Workshops organised by the project

In frame of the CEARES-NET project there were two workshops organised. The organisers of the workshop were relaying on the database created and maintained by the CEARS Network.

Vienna Workshop

The first workshop was organised by Austrian Institute of Technology in Vienna on 13-14 October 2010. Among the participants of the event was Mr. Pablo Perez-Illana European Commission Research DG, Mr. Robert Lundberg Volvo Aero representing ASD-IMG4, Mr. Eric Dautriat, Clean Sky JU Executive Director, Ms Elisabeth Huchler on behalf of the Unit of Mobility and Transport Technologies within the Austrian Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology and numerous representatives of Aeronautical R&TD institutions from the Central European and Baltic states.

The representatives of the European Commission and the high level European aeronautical R&TD related organisations highlighted the possibilities provided by the upcoming calls and the directions of the of the further development. The representatives of the aeronautical R&TD from the other side showed their capabilities and fields in which they are expect to achieve further developments.

The successful two days event provided an excellent possibility for the participants to express their needs and intentions in field of aeronautical R&TD, to learn about important accents of the FP7 Aeronautics & Air Transport Research and beyond. The participant also had a good opportunity to participate in networking and to have B2B kind communication.

Warsaw Workshop

The second workshop was organised by the Institute of Aviation in Warsaw on 15-16 June 2011. The title of the workshop was “Towards innovation - The future of aeronautics” and it was organised in cooperation with SAT – Roadmap.

The organiser has invited the representatives of Polish Aeronautical NCP, Polish Aeronautical Research and Development, European Commission and representatives of numerous European initiatives like SESAR JU, CleanSky, Small Air Transport and CANNAPE.

The topic has addressed the possibilities for further innovation in the field of aeronautics and had special emphasis on the small air transport.

The CEARES Network members were also well represented trough various FP7 projects like TITAN or they were representing own organisations or institutes such as BUTE.

The workshop was divided into three well defined parts. During the first day on the general session the presenters have provided overview of the related topics in general. The second day the audience was organised in two smaller groups and issues of the Small aircraft strategy and Aeronautics programmes were discussed in detail during the two parallel sessions. This was followed by a panel discussion where the topics previously discussed were further elaborated in a more structured way.
