19.09.2011 CANNAPE workshop series
This second in the series of CANNAPE workshops (31 October – 3 November, Ottawa, Canada) intends to address the following objectives:
- Initiate discussion amongst participants on possible collaboration in upcoming Level 2 projects of the FP7, as forecast for the 6th call.
- Initiate strategic discussions amongst participants leading to potential R&D strategies for key aerospace technology R&D.
- Provide administrative and funding information to Canadians who may have interests in collaboration on FP7 projects.
- Provide a venue for Canadian and Europeans to refine project proposals for the ongoing FP7 5th call and otherwise meet their colleagues.
and finally,
- Promote the development of a rich and effective network of researchers in Canada and Europe that can collaborate on current and future R&D opportunities.

We would like to remind you that the event will take place from 30th march to 1st April 2011 at the Palacio Municipal de Congresos of Madrid. Organized by the European Commission and the Spanish Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI), the Aerodays intend to get together the main actors related with the aeronautics R&D with the aim to discuss about the main challenges of future that this sector faces.

05.11.2010 CEARES-NET workshop
The CEARES-NET FP7 funded project has held it first workshop in Vienna on 13th -14th October. The two days event was organised by the Austrian Institute of Technology with the support of Slot Consulting (Hungary). Among the participants of the event was Mr. Pablo Perez-Illana European Commission Research DG, Mr. Robert Lundberg Volvo Aero representing ASD-IMG4, Mr. Eric Dautriat, Clean Sky JU Executive Director, Ms Elisabeth Huchler on behalf of the Unit of Mobility and Transport Technologies within the Austrian Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology and numerous representatives of Aeronautical R&TD institutions from the Central European and Baltic states.
The representatives of the European Commission and the high level European aeronautical R&TD related organisations highlighted the possibilities provided by the upcoming calls and the directions of the of the further development. The representatives of the aeronautical R&TD from the other side showed their capabilities and fields in which they are expect to achieve further developments.
The successful two days event provided an excellent possibility for the participants to express their needs and intentions in field of aeronautical R&TD, to learn about important accents of the FP7 Aeronautics & Air Transport Research and beyond. The participant also had a good opportunity to participate in networking and to have B2B kind communication.

03.11.2010 Other events
Every year in mid-January Institute of Aviation of Poland organizes the conference on Fatigue of Aircraft Structures. It takes place at the Institute of Aviation in Warsaw. The 2011 event will be the fourth edition of this conference.

10.06.2010 Kick-off meeting of the CEARES-NET project
The CEARES-NET consortium (aiming to organise two more regional workshops for the CEARES community) successfully held its kick-off meeting in Budapest. The open administrative and strategic issues were discussed and the first steps towards the organisation of the Vienna workshop were taken.
01.04.2010 Launch of the independent CEARES Network
At the closure date of the CEARES FP7 project, the CEARES Network – established in the frame of the project – became independent and started its own life. The CEARES Network continues its activities (workshops, mailing, etc) and any new member from the targeted CEARES region is welcome.
